Ask for an itemized written statement naming the destination taxes, service charges and payer. “Taxes included” alone does not show which charges the seller has paid for your shipment.
The community question
A buyer asked whether a shop’s “taxes included” wording meant no further customs payment. The thread establishes a real question, not the tax treatment of that purchase.

Save the checkout wording and ask whether it refers to taxes charged in the shop or import charges at the Israeli destination. Request the shipment reference, named payer and a written list of included and excluded charges. If the seller mentions DDP or another trade term, ask for the named delivery place and the agreed transport scope. A label on a product page cannot replace the invoice and shipment arrangement. Do this before ordering again from the same supplier, even if a previous parcel arrived without a request for payment.
Separate tax from the service bill
An import-related invoice may contain government taxes and separate charges for a provider’s work. FedEx, for example, explains that advancing duties and taxes on a customer’s behalf can incur a disbursement fee. That explanation does not establish the correct charge for another company or for your shipment. Ask the issuer to identify each line, its basis and whether it was already covered by the seller. Compare like-for-like amounts before concluding that the same tax has been charged twice.
Use the official tool within its scope
The Israel Tax Authority provides product-based personal import information. Its calculator terms state that the tool is for personal use, excludes possible broker commissions and sea-import port fees, and is not binding on customs. This is why a calculator result should not be treated as the complete delivered cost. For stock intended for resale, ask the responsible customs professional to assess the commercial shipment using the actual product details and importer information. Do not select a tax percentage from a forum example.
Resolve an unexpected bill with evidence
Prepare the order confirmation, commercial invoice, freight quote, tracking reference and payment receipts. Send the seller and billing provider the same itemized question: which line is being requested, who was meant to pay it, and what document supports the charge? Ask whether storage or another time-dependent charge could accrue while the query is open, and request the applicable dates. Keep the response and case number together. This checklist does not decide liability or promise that a disputed amount will be refunded.
Build a clearer China–Israel enquiry
List origin handling, international transport, import services, confirmed taxes and local delivery separately. Record currency, payer, quote validity and exclusions for each amount. Leave unknown charges unconfirmed rather than entering zero in a cost comparison. The landed-cost worksheet on this site sums your supplied amounts; the team still needs to confirm the actual quotation and scope. Share product descriptions and the intended use before requesting a tax-inclusive transport arrangement.
Your preparation checklist
- Save the order, invoice and seller’s exact inclusions.
- Request separate tax and service-fee lines.
- Match the shipment reference and payment receipts.
- Confirm the payer and unresolved charges before dispatch.
